The TRU-MAXX 66253255505 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for precision flat-surface stock removal on ferrous metals and tool steels. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive grain in a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent cutting action and holds its form under sustained contact. At 60 grit with an H hardness rating, it sits in the medium-soft range, making it well-suited for applications where controlled material removal and surface finish quality are both priorities. The vitrified bond structure resists heat and maintains dimensional stability during operation. Rated to 3250 RPM, it fits standard surface grinding spindles common in job shops and maintenance facilities.
This wheel is sized for horizontal-spindle surface grinders using a 3-inch arbor bore. The 10-inch diameter and 3/4-inch face width are standard configurations for bench-type and reciprocating-table surface grinders used across tool rooms, machine shops, and industrial maintenance operations. Its non-porous, semi-friable grain structure suits moderate-to-heavy passes on carbon steel, alloy steel, and hardened tool steel workpieces where a consistent finish is required across the full wheel face.
Designed as a replacement or production wheel for horizontal-spindle surface grinders accepting a 10-inch diameter, 3/4-inch wide, 3-inch bore Type 1 straight wheel.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machine operator or maintenance technician following ANSI B7.1 safe-use standards for abrasive wheels. Always ring-test the wheel for cracks before mounting, and confirm the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the 3250 RPM maximum rating. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels. Use proper flanges and blotters as specified by the machine manufacturer, and allow the wheel to run at operating speed for at least one minute behind a guard before engaging workpiece contact.
