The TRU-MAXX 66253255407 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal on surface grinders in tool rooms, maintenance shops, and production grinding applications. Built with a ceramic abrasive grain and a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent cutting action and maintains its form under load. It measures 8 inches in diameter, 3/4 inches thick, with a 1-1/4 inches arbor hole. The 46 grit, coarse grade, I hardness rating makes it well suited for aggressive material removal while the vitrified bond provides rigidity and porosity control. Maximum operating speed is rated at 3,105 RPM.
This wheel is intended for use on horizontal or vertical spindle surface grinders in both residential shop and light industrial settings. It is a common choice for grinding flat surfaces on ferrous metals, tool steel, and similar hard materials. The Type 1 straight wheel profile fits standard surface grinder spindles equipped with a 1-1/4 inches bore arbor. Machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians are the primary installers and operators of this wheel type.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard fitment for surface grinders accepting a Type 1 straight wheel with a 1-1/4 inches arbor bore and 8 inches diameter wheel capacity.
Surface grinding wheels must be installed and operated by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with grinding machine safety. Before mounting, inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test procedure and never exceed the maximum RPM stamped on the wheel or listed by the manufacturer. Ensure the machine spindle is fully de-energized and locked out before changing wheels, and use the correct flange size and blotter paper as required by ANSI B11.9 grinding machine safety standards. Always dress the wheel before the first grind pass to true the face and expose fresh abrasive grain.
