The TRU-MAXX 66243496737 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal on ferrous metals and tool steel. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, it delivers consistent cut rate and form retention across flat surface grinding operations. The coarse 46 grit and K hardness rating make it well suited for aggressive material removal where surface finish is secondary to stock removal rate. At 5 pounds and rated to 2483 RPM, it is sized for production surface grinders in job shop and toolroom environments. Licensed machinists and grinding technicians are the typical installers and operators of this wheel.
This wheel is intended for horizontal-spindle surface grinding machines that accept a 10 inch diameter, 1 inch thick, Type 1 straight wheel with a 3 inch arbor hole. The coarse grain structure and semi-friable aluminum oxide abrasive perform well on carbon steel, alloy steel, and similar ferrous workpieces. It is commonly used in toolrooms, maintenance shops, and production grinding cells where flat surfaces or tool edges require consistent stock removal. The vitrified bond provides good rigidity and open pore structure for efficient chip clearance during wet or dry grinding passes.
Designed for horizontal-spindle surface grinders accepting a Type 1 straight wheel measuring 10 inches in diameter, 1 inch thick, with a 3 inch center hole and a maximum operating speed of 2483 RPM.
Wheel mounting and dressing must be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding technician following ANSI B11.9 safety standards for grinding machines. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test before installation, and never exceed the maximum operating speed of 2483 RPM marked on the wheel. Flanges and blotters must conform to the wheel diameter and be free of debris before clamping.
