The TRU-MAXX 66243496718 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for precision surface grinding applications. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, it delivers consistent stock removal and a controlled finish on ferrous metals and tool steels. The wheel measures 7 inches in diameter, 3/8 inches thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. It runs at a maximum of 3600 RPM and carries a 60 grit rating with K hardness — a medium-grade designation that balances wheel life against cut rate. The semi-friable grain structure supports self-dressing behavior under load, making it a practical choice for surface grinding machines in shop and maintenance environments.
This wheel is suited for horizontal and vertical spindle surface grinders used in machine shops, tool rooms, and maintenance facilities. The 7-inch diameter and 1-1/4 inch arbor hole fit a wide range of bench-type and reciprocating surface grinders. The 60 grit specification targets general-purpose material removal rather than fine finishing, making it appropriate for stock removal passes on flat ferrous workpieces. The non-porous, vitrified bond provides rigidity and cool cutting action, which is beneficial when maintaining tight flatness tolerances on hardened steel surfaces.
Designed as a standard Type 1 surface grinding wheel for horizontal and vertical spindle surface grinders accepting a 7-inch diameter wheel with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole running at or below 3600 RPM.
Grinding wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B11.9 and applicable shop safety standards. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test before mounting, and never exceed the maximum rated RPM of 3600. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels, and use proper flanges and blotters as specified by the machine manufacturer. Eye protection and a wheel guard are required during operation.
