The SUPCO cs-14 is a 14-gauge carbon steel coiled strap designed for structural connection and framing applications in residential and light commercial construction. Finished with a G90 galvanized coating, it delivers corrosion resistance suitable for standard interior and exterior framing conditions. The strap ships in a 100-foot coil, allowing installers to cut sections to the required length on site. It is typically installed by framing contractors, carpenters, and general tradespeople working on wall, floor, and roof framing assemblies where continuous strap tension ties are required by code.
The cs-14 is used in wood-frame construction projects where continuous strap connections are needed to transfer loads between structural members. Common applications include wall-to-wall, wall-to-floor, and wall-to-foundation connections. The coiled format makes it practical for jobs requiring multiple cuts at varying lengths. This strap is not rated for use with treated lumber. Fastener selection should follow the manufacturer product guide documentation included with the product.
Designed as an OEM-style coiled strap for standard wood-frame structural connection applications in residential and light commercial construction.
Installation should be performed by a qualified framing contractor or carpenter in accordance with applicable building codes, including IRC and IBC structural connection requirements. Use only the fastener types and quantities specified in the product guide document — substituting fasteners can reduce the rated connection capacity. Cut sections with appropriate metal-cutting snips or shears to avoid deforming the strap edges. Do not install on treated lumber, as this product is not rated for that application.
