The SPEARS SPE817020 is a 45-degree elbow fitting manufactured from PVC Schedule 80 material, designed for pressure piping systems that demand heavier wall thickness and greater chemical resistance than Schedule 40. The socket-by-socket (SxS) end connections accept solvent-cement joints on both ends, creating a leak-tight bond in permanent installations. Weighing 0.15 pounds, this compact fitting is well suited for tight routing changes in industrial, chemical, irrigation, and plumbing systems. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and irrigation technicians are the primary installers for this type of fitting.
This 45-degree elbow is used in residential and commercial piping applications where a gradual directional change is needed without the sharp turn of a 90-degree elbow. Schedule 80 PVC is commonly specified in industrial process lines, chemical feed systems, pool and spa plumbing, and pressurized irrigation headers. The 1-inch nominal size fits standard 1-inch PVC pipe and is appropriate for both above-ground and below-grade installations where the pipe class is rated for the service conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-construction fitting compatible with standard 1-inch PVC Schedule 80 pressure piping systems using solvent-cement socket joints.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM solvent-cementing standards. Depressurize and drain the system fully before cutting into any existing line. Use the correct PVC primer and Schedule 80-rated solvent cement, and allow full cure time before returning the line to service. Do not use this fitting with threaded connections or mechanical couplings unless a transition fitting is specified.
