The SOUTHWIRE CBGI125 is an insulated grounding bushing designed for use with rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit installations. It provides a grounded, insulated throat to protect wire insulation from sharp conduit edges while maintaining a reliable ground path at the termination point. Licensed electricians install this bushing during panel feeds, junction box connections, and service entrance work where code requires both grounding continuity and insulation protection. The CBGI125 is sized for 1-1/4 inch conduit trade size and is built to withstand standard conduit termination torque without cracking or losing conductivity.
This insulated grounding bushing is suited for residential and light commercial electrical installations. It is typically installed at the end of a conduit run where it terminates into an enclosure, panelboard, or junction box. The bushing threads onto the conduit end and a grounding lug accepts a bonding conductor, completing the equipment grounding path as required by the National Electrical Code. It is a standard component in service entrance assemblies and feeder conduit terminations where conduit serves as the raceway system.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fitment grounding bushing for 1-1/4 inch trade size rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit terminations. Also referenced as Madison Electric CBGI-125.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize and lock out the circuit or service before working on any conduit termination. Thread the bushing onto the conduit end by hand, then tighten to seat fully before pulling conductors. Connect a bonding jumper to the grounding lug and terminate it to the enclosure ground bar per NEC Article 250 requirements.
