The SOUTHWIRE 667 is a 2-1/2 inch die-cast compression coupling designed for joining EMT (Electrical Metallic Tubing) conduit sections. Compression-style couplings create a secure, rain-tight mechanical connection without set screws, making them suitable for both dry and damp location installations. The die-cast construction provides a solid, low-resistance bonding path across the conduit joint. This fitting is installed by electricians during conduit rough-in on commercial, industrial, and residential electrical systems where EMT is the specified raceway.
The 667 coupling is used with 2-1/2 inch EMT conduit runs in electrical distribution systems, panel feeders, branch circuit raceways, and exposed conduit installations. Its compression design is common in applications where a more secure conduit joint is required compared to set-screw type fittings. Typical install environments include commercial buildouts, industrial facilities, and multi-family residential work where NEC-compliant EMT installations are standard.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for use with standard 2-1/2 inch EMT conduit per ANSI/NEMA and NEC specifications.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize all circuits in the affected raceway before making conduit connections. Tighten compression nuts with the appropriate conduit wrench or pliers to ensure a secure mechanical and electrical bond — do not overtighten die-cast fittings. All EMT conduit installations must comply with NEC Article 358 and applicable local electrical codes.
