The SOUTHWIRE 666 is a 2-inch die-cast compression connector designed for use with electrical metallic tubing (EMT). This fitting creates a secure, low-resistance mechanical and electrical bond between EMT conduit and a metal enclosure, junction box, or panel knockout. The compression-style design eliminates set screws, applying uniform radial pressure around the conduit for a rainproof-rated termination. Electricians use this connector in commercial and residential rough-in work where a reliable conduit-to-enclosure transition is required. At 14 pounds per package, this is a multi-unit pack suited for larger installations or stocking purposes.
This connector is suited for EMT conduit installations in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and residential service work. The 2-inch trade size accommodates larger conduit runs carrying multiple conductors or larger-gauge wire. Die-cast construction provides the mechanical strength needed in exposed or semi-protected locations. It is commonly installed at panel enclosures, pull boxes, and junction boxes where a code-compliant, secure conduit termination is required by NEC standards.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for use with standard 2-inch EMT conduit in accordance with NEC conduit installation requirements.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize all circuits and verify lockout/tagout procedures are in place before beginning conduit termination work. Slide the compression nut over the EMT conduit end, insert the conduit into the connector body, and tighten the compression nut to the manufacturer recommendation using the appropriate conduit wrench. Verify the knockout opening is properly sized and that a locknut is applied to the interior of the enclosure for a secure, NEC-compliant termination.
