The SOUTHWIRE 56366002 is a flat-type submersible pump cable designed for continuous underground and wet-environment installations. Built to UL listed standards, it features two copper conductors insulated with Essex specially compounded moisture-resistant PVC insulation. The conductors are color-coded black and red, with a green ground, making polarity identification straightforward during installation. Rated at 600 volts and 60 degrees F, this cable is sized at 12 AWG and supplied in a 500-foot coil, making it well suited for single-trip pulls on residential and light commercial submersible pump drops.
This cable is installed by licensed electricians and pump service technicians working on submersible well pump systems, sump applications, and other below-grade pump installations. The flat construction allows it to feed cleanly through well casings without bunching or binding. At 12 AWG, it handles the load demands typical of fractional to small horsepower submersible motors. Each 500-foot coil covers substantial drop depth plus lateral runs to the pressure switch and control panel.
Designed as an OEM-style wiring solution for 2-conductor submersible pump installations requiring 12 AWG, 600-volt rated cable in residential and light commercial well and pump systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 680 and applicable local codes for submersible pump wiring. Always de-energize the circuit at the breaker and verify zero voltage with a meter before making any terminations. Secure the cable to the drop pipe at regular intervals using approved cable ties rated for submersible use, and avoid sharp bends at the well head connection point that could damage the PVC jacket over time.
