The SOUTHWIRE 52151-FR-UPC is a bracket-mount, welded steel square electrical box designed to distribute power to multiple electrical devices at junction or outlet points. Measuring 4 inches x 4 inches, it serves as a central distribution point where multiple conductor runs split into two or more directions. Combination knockouts provide wiring flexibility, allowing conductors to enter and exit from multiple sides without requiring separate knockout tools for every entry point. This box is UL listed and RoHS compliant, meeting common code requirements for residential and commercial electrical installations. Licensed electricians and qualified electrical contractors are the typical installers.
This square box is suited for both residential and light commercial wiring applications where branch circuits need to be split or distributed at a single enclosure. It is commonly installed in walls, ceilings, and exposed framing as a junction box or as a base for device mounting. The bracket-mount design allows secure attachment to framing or structural supports. Combination Phillips/Slotted screw head compatibility simplifies fastener access during rough-in and trim-out phases of electrical work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fit for 4-inch square box applications in residential and light commercial electrical rough-in installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all affected circuits at the panel and verify absence of voltage with a meter before beginning work. Secure the bracket mount firmly to framing or approved structural support before pulling conductors. Do not exceed the box fill capacity as calculated per NEC Article 314.
