The SOUTHWIRE 411030501 is a 14 AWG stranded machine tool wire designed for internal wiring of industrial machinery, control panels, and automated equipment. It features a polyvinylchloride (PVC) insulation rated for a maximum operating temperature of 221 degrees F, making it suitable for demanding machine-tool environments. The conductor is built from 41 strands, giving it the flexibility required for routing through tight panel layouts. With an outside diameter of 0.136 inches, this wire fits standard terminal blocks and connectors commonly found in industrial control cabinets. Electricians and machine builders install this wire where UL-listed, standards-compliant internal wiring is required.
This wire is intended for use as internal wiring in machine tools, industrial control panels, and similar equipment operating under NFPA 79 guidelines. It is rated for a minimum operating temperature of -22 degrees F, supporting use in cold environments such as refrigeration machinery or unheated industrial spaces. The white jacket aids in color-coded wiring schemes within control enclosures. Each spool provides 500 feet of continuous wire, suitable for panel shops and contractors managing multiple machine builds or service runs.
Designed for use as internal machine tool and control panel wiring in applications governed by NFPA 79 and NFPA 70, where UL 1063 or UL 83 listed wire is specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified machine builder in accordance with NFPA 79 and NFPA 70 (NEC) requirements. De-energize and lock out all power to the panel or machine before routing or terminating wire. Use appropriate wire strippers sized for 14 AWG to avoid nicking strands, which can reduce ampacity and cause premature failure. Do not exceed the rated operating temperature of the insulation when routing near heat-generating components.
