The SOUTHWIRE 411010509 is an 18 AWG machine tool wire rated for continuous use in industrial and commercial control wiring applications. It features a gray polyvinylchloride (PVC) insulation with an outside diameter of 0.108 inches and a 16-strand construction for flexibility during routing and termination. The wire is rated for a maximum operating temperature of 221 degrees F and a minimum of -4 degrees F, making it suitable for demanding machine and panel environments. It meets UL 1063 and CSA 22.2 No. 210 standards. Each spool provides 500 feet of continuous wire.
This wire is used in machine tool panels, industrial control cabinets, and automated equipment wiring where resistance to acids, moisture, and oils is required. The PVC insulation holds up in environments where fluids and cutting oils are present on or near electrical components. Electricians and machine maintenance technicians install this wire inside enclosures, along cable trays, and through conduit runs within manufacturing and process control systems. It is well-suited for both OEM panel builds and field service work on existing equipment.
Designed for use as machine tool wire in industrial control panels, automated equipment, and machinery where UL 1063 and CSA 22.2 No. 210 compliant wiring is specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits and lock out the equipment before routing or terminating this wire. Avoid sharp bends that exceed the minimum bend radius for the wire gauge. Verify that all terminal connections are properly torqued and that insulation is not damaged during pull-through in conduit or cable management systems.
