The SOUTHWIRE 411010504 is an 18 AWG stranded machine tool wire rated for use in industrial control panels, machine tool equipment, and related electrical assemblies. Built with a polyvinylchloride (PVC) insulation jacket measuring 0.108 inches in outside diameter, this wire handles a maximum operating temperature of 221 degrees F and a minimum of -4 degrees F. The 16-strand conductor construction improves flexibility compared to solid wire, making it easier to route through tight conduit runs and panel enclosures. It meets CSA 22.2 No. 210, UL 1063, and UL Subject 758 standards. This 500-foot spool is suited for electricians and industrial maintenance professionals wiring control panels and automation equipment.
This wire is intended for use in machine tool and industrial control panel wiring applications where resistance to acid, moisture, and oil is required. The PVC insulation provides a reliable barrier in environments where exposure to cutting fluids, coolants, or light chemical contact is common. The red color coding supports circuit identification within multi-wire panel layouts. Typical installations include motor control centers, CNC machine enclosures, automated assembly equipment, and general industrial control wiring where a flexible, color-coded conductor is specified.
Designed for use in machine tool wiring, industrial control panels, and automation equipment enclosures where UL 1063-rated stranded wire is specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and any applicable local codes governing industrial control panel wiring. De-energize all circuits and follow lockout/tagout procedures before working inside any control enclosure. Avoid exceeding the wire's rated operating temperature range, and do not use in applications requiring a higher voltage or current rating than the conductor gauge supports. Standard wire-stripping and termination tools appropriate for 18 AWG stranded conductors are recommended.
