The SOUTHWIRE 335M is an insulated grounding bushing designed for use with metallic conduit systems in commercial and residential electrical installations. This bushing threads onto the end of rigid metal conduit or intermediate metal conduit to provide a smooth, insulated throat that protects wire insulation from abrasion, while also offering a grounding lug connection point. It is sized for 1-1/2 inch trade size conduit and is installed by licensed electricians during conduit terminations at enclosures, panels, and junction boxes.
This bushing is suited for use in commercial, industrial, and residential applications where NEC requirements call for an insulated fitting at conduit terminations to protect conductors. It is typically installed where conduit enters an enclosure or panelboard, providing both mechanical protection and a grounding path. The metallic construction ensures durability in demanding installation environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting for 1-1/2 inch trade size rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit termination applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before beginning conduit termination work. Thread the bushing onto the conduit end and tighten with an appropriate strap wrench or pliers, then torque to the conduit manufacturer and NEC guidelines for metallic fittings. Refer to NEC Article 300 and Article 250 for grounding and bonding requirements at conduit terminations.
