The SOUTHWIRE 327 is a 2.5-inch insulated grounding bushing designed for use in electrical conduit installations. This fitting provides a grounded, insulated throat at conduit terminations, protecting wire insulation from abrasion at metal conduit ends and ensuring a reliable ground path. Licensed electricians install this type of bushing where NEC requirements call for insulated grounding bushings on metal conduit entering enclosures, panelboards, and junction boxes. It is a standard component in commercial and industrial electrical work.
The 327 is suited for rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) terminations at 2.5-inch trade size. Typical applications include service entrances, feeder runs, and branch circuit conduit terminations in commercial, industrial, and residential electrical systems where conductor protection and grounding continuity are required at conduit endpoints.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for 2.5-inch trade size rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit terminations in standard electrical enclosures and panelboards.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize all circuits and verify absence of voltage before working on any conduit termination. Thread the bushing onto the conduit end and torque hand-tight before securing the ground conductor to the lug per NEC bonding requirements. Consult the applicable NEC articles for grounding and bonding requirements at conduit terminations.
