The SOUTHWIRE 1905 is a seal flex compound used to create watertight and airtight seals around electrical conduit entries, junction boxes, and enclosure penetrations. This compound is formulated to fill voids and gaps where conductors or conduit pass through walls, floors, or equipment enclosures, blocking the passage of gases, moisture, and contaminants. It is installed by licensed electricians and electrical contractors working on both residential and commercial systems. The product ships in a 5 lb container and is also cross-referenced as Topaz 965 and Madison 1905.
Seal flex compound is used in conduit sealing applications where preventing the migration of gases, vapors, or moisture through conduit systems is required. Typical installations include service entrance seals, underground conduit terminations, hazardous location conduit seals, and equipment room penetrations. Electricians apply this compound in situations governed by NEC requirements for conduit sealing, particularly in locations subject to condensation or where conduit runs between areas of differing temperatures.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement compound compatible with standard conduit sealing fittings used in commercial and residential electrical installations. Also referenced as Topaz 965 and Madison 1905.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for conduit sealing. Power down the circuit and de-energize the enclosure before opening any conduit fitting or penetration for sealing. Follow the compound manufacturer mixing and application instructions for proper cure and seal integrity. Allow adequate cure time before restoring power or pressurizing the conduit system.
