The SOUTHWIRE 1901 is a seal flex compound used to create weatherproof, airtight seals around electrical conduit entries, fittings, and enclosure penetrations. This pliable, non-hardening compound fills voids and gaps to block moisture, air, and insects from entering electrical boxes, panels, and junction points. It is a standard material in commercial and residential electrical work where conduit sealing is required by code. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors apply this compound during rough-in and finish stages to maintain enclosure integrity and meet inspection requirements.
The SOUTHWIRE 1901 seal flex compound is suited for use at conduit entry points on weatherproof enclosures, meter bases, load centers, and similar electrical equipment. It performs in both indoor and outdoor applications where a durable, flexible seal is needed to prevent environmental intrusion. The compound remains workable after application, accommodating minor conduit movement without cracking or losing adhesion.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use seal compound for conduit entry sealing in residential and commercial electrical installations. Also referenced under Topaz part number 961 and Madison part number 1901.
Installation of conduit seal compound is typically performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize all circuits and confirm power is off before working inside any panel, enclosure, or junction box. Apply compound around conduit entries to fill gaps completely before closing the enclosure. Follow applicable NEC requirements for conduit sealing in wet or outdoor-rated locations.
