The SOUTHWIRE/COLEMAN CABLE 11589958 is a 500-foot spool of 12 AWG solid copper THHN building wire in red. THHN (Thermoplastic High Heat-resistant Nylon-coated) wire is one of the most widely used conductor types in commercial and residential electrical installations. This conductor features a nylon jacket over thermoplastic insulation, rated for 90 degrees C dry and 75 degrees C wet environments, and is listed for 600-volt applications. Electricians rely on this wire for branch circuit wiring in conduit runs where a durable, heat-resistant conductor is required. The solid 12 AWG gauge is standard for 20-amp branch circuits.
This wire is used in conduit-based wiring systems in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. It is appropriate for branch circuits in panel feeders, junction boxes, and conduit runs. The red jacket color supports standard color-coding conventions for identifying conductors in multi-wire branch circuits and 240-volt applications. Solid construction makes it well suited for shorter conduit runs and device terminations where stranded wire is not required.
Designed for use in conduit systems as an OEM-style building wire replacement or new-install conductor in residential and commercial branch circuit wiring per NEC requirements.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before pulling or terminating conductors. THHN solid wire is intended for use in conduit or cable trays and should not be used as a substitute for flexible or open-air applications outside its listing. Verify conductor ampacity and conduit fill calculations before installation.
