The SOUTHWIRE 11580883 is a 50-foot coil of 14 AWG solid copper THHN building wire with white insulation. It is rated for 600 volts and 90 degrees C dry and wet locations, making it a dependable general-purpose conductor for power, lighting, and control circuits. The wire features flame-retardant PVC insulation over solid copper with a nylon outer jacket. That nylon jacket resists oil, gasoline, chemicals, and abrasion, which extends service life in demanding conduit runs. Electricians rely on this wire for branch circuit wiring in residential and light commercial construction.
This wire is intended for installation inside conduit or raceways in accordance with the National Electrical Code. Typical applications include branch circuit runs, lighting circuits, and low-load control wiring in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The solid conductor construction is well suited for shorter runs and terminations at devices such as outlets, switches, and junction boxes where a solid wire connection is specified or preferred.
Designed as a standard 14 AWG THHN solid building wire for use in conduit or raceway systems where 600-volt rated, general-purpose branch circuit or control wiring is required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code and all applicable local codes. Always de-energize the circuit and verify the absence of voltage before pulling or terminating wire. Use appropriate conduit fill calculations per NEC Article 310 and Article 358 or the relevant raceway article. Do not exceed the 90 degrees C temperature rating of the insulation when selecting overcurrent protection or routing near heat sources.
