The SOUTHWIRE 1129 is a steel EMT 2-hole strap designed to secure electrical metallic tubing to walls, ceilings, and structural members in conduit installation work. This strap provides a two-point fastening profile that resists lateral movement and keeps conduit runs aligned in both residential and commercial electrical applications. Smaller sizes from 1/2 inch through 1 inch are finished with bright zinc electroplating, while sizes from 1-1/4 inches through 4 inches use galvanized steel for added corrosion resistance. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this hardware.
This strap is suited for use in conduit support applications where EMT runs along framing, concrete block, or structural steel. It is commonly installed in commercial builds, light industrial facilities, and residential rough-in work wherever the NEC requires conduit to be supported at set intervals. The 2-hole design distributes load across two fastener points, making it a preferred choice over single-hole designs in high-vibration or long conduit-run installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitment strap for EMT conduit support in residential and commercial electrical installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC conduit support spacing requirements. Power down all circuits in the work area before beginning conduit installation or modification. Use appropriately sized fasteners for the mounting surface — wood screws for framing, masonry anchors for concrete or block. Do not overtighten fasteners, as deforming the strap can affect conduit alignment.
