The SNAPPY 66-1210 is a 12-inch by 10-inch galvanized sheet metal reducer designed for residential and light commercial duct systems. Fabricated from 26-gauge galvanized steel, this uncrimped reducer transitions airflow between two different duct diameters in forced-air HVAC applications. The uncrimped end allows the installer to make field connections without a pre-set bead, giving flexibility when mating to existing ductwork. Sheet metal workers and HVAC installers use this fitting to maintain system efficiency across trunk-to-branch transitions and equipment connections. At 0.80 pounds, it is lightweight enough for single-technician overhead work.
This reducer fits into standard round galvanized duct systems where a diameter change is required between supply trunk lines and branch runs. It is suited for new construction duct installations, renovation work, and replacement of damaged or corroded transition fittings. The 26-gauge construction holds its shape during handling and installation without excessive rigidity that would complicate field adjustments. It is appropriate for use in residential forced-air furnace and air handler supply systems as well as light commercial air distribution.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard round galvanized duct systems requiring a 12-inch to 10-inch diameter reduction.
Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician or sheet metal worker following applicable mechanical codes. Power down the air handler or furnace and confirm airflow has stopped before working inside the duct system. Secure the fitting with sheet metal screws and seal all joints with UL 181-rated mastic or foil tape to prevent air leakage. Do not overtighten screws on the 26-gauge material, as the gauge is susceptible to deformation around fastener points.
