The SIMPLEX pj2p is a 4-ton mechanical planer jack designed for precision leveling of machine beds, planers, millers, and heavy industrial equipment. It delivers 1.5 inches of operable rise through a screw-drive mechanism, allowing fine, repeatable adjustments without hydraulics or power tools. A side-locking screw holds the jack at the set height and prevents unintended lowering caused by vibration during machine operation. The ball and socket swivel cap centers load forces automatically, reducing lateral stress on the jack body. At 2.8 pounds, it is compact enough for close-clearance work while carrying a full 4-ton rated load. Licensed millwrights, machinists, and maintenance mechanics are the typical installers.
The pj2p is suited for industrial and commercial maintenance environments where precise, incremental machine leveling is required. Common applications include leveling planer beds, milling machine bases, and general stationary machinery. The notched base allows the jack to be fastened directly to machine beds for a secure, repeatable mounting position. The slotted load cap prevents load slippage in inline applications, making it appropriate for use where the load and jack must remain aligned during adjustment. It is especially useful in shops and facilities where vibration from nearby equipment would otherwise cause a standard jack to creep or lower.
Designed as an OEM-style mechanical planer jack for use with planer beds, milling machines, and general industrial machinery requiring precise screw-adjusted leveling.
Installation is typically performed by licensed millwrights or qualified maintenance mechanics. De-energize and lock out all machinery before placing or adjusting jacks beneath machine bases. Verify that the jack base is seated flat and that the notched base is engaged with the machine bed before applying load. Do not exceed the rated 4-ton capacity, and confirm the locking screw is engaged before leaving the jack unattended under load.
