The SECURITRON -U.S. M680E-628 is an electromagnetic door lock designed for access control applications in commercial and institutional facilities. Operating on 12 or 24 volts DC, it provides a fail-safe holding force suitable for securing single door openings where electric locking hardware is required. The M680E-628 is part of the Eco Magnalock 680 series, built for installations where low power consumption and reliable electromagnetic retention are priorities. Licensed electricians and access control technicians are the primary trades responsible for its installation and integration into a broader access control system.
This electromagnetic lock is suited for commercial door openings including aluminum storefront, hollow metal, and wood doors in office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, and government installations. The 12/24 VDC dual-voltage design allows compatibility with a range of access control power supplies. It is intended for interior and exterior door applications where a fail-safe electric lock is specified by the security system designer or integrator. Installers should verify that the door frame and header provide adequate surface area and structural support for proper magnetic bond.
Designed as an OEM-style electromagnetic lock for commercial access control door hardware applications requiring a 12/24 VDC fail-safe maglock.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or credentialed access control technician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for low-voltage access control wiring. Disconnect and lock out all power to the access control panel and door hardware circuit before mounting or wiring the lock. Verify that the door header and armature mounting surface are flat, clean, and structurally sound before securing the unit. Do not modify the magnet body or armature plate, as doing so may reduce holding force and void any applicable listing.
