The SECO 03276706 is a solid carbide turning insert in the WNMG332-MF4 series, designed for precision metal removal in CNC turning applications. It carries a CVD-applied Duratomic coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr for extended tool life in demanding cuts. The insert features an 80-degree trigon shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/32-inch corner radius, and six usable cutting edges. With a negative rake angle and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge style, it is well suited for stable, repeatable cutting on stainless steel and steel workpieces. Machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary users of this insert type.
This insert is rated for multi-use applications including boring, facing, and turning. Primary workpiece material is stainless steel (ISO material code M), with steel as the secondary workpiece material (ISO material code P). It falls within ISO material grades M15, M20, and M25, making it appropriate for medium to semi-finishing passes. The MF4 chip breaker geometry is optimized for controlled chip formation in these material groups. The ISO designation for this insert is WNMG060408-MF4, and it conforms to both ANSI and ISO insert standards.
Designed as a replacement-style insert for WNMG-series toolholders that accept WNMG332 inserts with clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods. Refer to the ANSI or ISO WNMG toolholder specifications to confirm fitment before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine fully powered down and all axes at a safe position before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torque driver or clamp tool specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the insert securely without over-tightening the clamping mechanism. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures during any tooling change.
