The RUSKIN a-212 is a replacement fuse link designed for use with fire dampers in commercial and residential HVAC duct systems. Fuse links are the thermal-release components that hold a fire damper blade in the open position during normal operation. When ambient temperature rises to the rated threshold during a fire event, the fuse link melts and allows the damper to close, restricting airflow and limiting fire and smoke spread through ductwork. The a-212 is a direct-replacement part intended for installation by licensed HVAC or sheet metal technicians performing fire damper maintenance or code-required inspection and resetting service.
The RUSKIN a-212 fuse link is compatible with Ruskin IBD2, IBD20, FDR25, CFD, and CFDR series fire dampers. These dampers are commonly installed in HVAC duct systems at rated fire wall and floor penetrations in commercial buildings and multifamily residential construction. Replacement of fuse links is a standard part of periodic fire damper inspection per NFPA 80 and local authority having jurisdiction requirements.
Compatible with Ruskin IBD2, IBD20, FDR25, CFD, and CFDR series fire dampers.
Installation and replacement of fire damper fuse links should be performed by a licensed HVAC or sheet metal technician. Shut down the associated air handling unit and confirm zero airflow before accessing the damper. Follow NFPA 80 guidelines and local code requirements for fire damper inspection intervals and fuse link replacement procedures. Never substitute a fuse link with a different temperature rating than specified for the damper model.
