The RESIDEO vntbal2000 is a wall-mounted touchscreen control interface designed to monitor and balance airflow in residential HVAC systems. It governs fan operation, ventilation mode selection, and synchronization of supply and exhaust airflow rates within a connected ventilator unit. The control integrates with compatible energy recovery ventilators (ERVs) and heat recovery ventilators (HRVs), allowing a technician to adjust fan speed, circulation timing, and operating modes such as ventilation, recirculation, and standby. It is wired into the system control circuit and serves as the primary user interface for the connected ventilation equipment.
The vntbal2000 is intended for residential applications where balanced mechanical ventilation is required. It mounts at the wall and provides localized control of the ventilator unit without requiring a separate thermostat or building automation interface. Typical installations include tight-construction homes with dedicated ERV or HRV equipment where supply and exhaust airflow must be balanced to meet ventilation standards. HVAC technicians and indoor air quality specialists are the primary installers of this control.
Designed for use with compatible Resideo energy recovery ventilator and heat recovery ventilator units that support a dedicated balancing control interface. Refer to the connected ventilator unit documentation to confirm control compatibility before installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with low-voltage control wiring. Power down the ventilator unit and disconnect the control circuit before making any wiring connections. Mount the control at the wall location specified in the ventilator installation manual and follow local mechanical and electrical codes for control wiring practices. Do not energize the unit until all wiring connections are secured and inspected.
