The RENISHAW A-1371-0392 is a low force module for the TP20 touch-trigger probe system, designed for use in coordinate measuring machine (CMM) applications. With an overall length of 38 millimeters and an M8 thread interface, this module seats into the TP20 probe body and provides a repeatable, low-contact-force stylus engagement suited for inspecting delicate or thin-walled workpieces. Accuracy is rated at 0.35 micrometers, making it appropriate for tight-tolerance dimensional inspection work. Metrology technicians and CMM operators install this module as part of routine probe configuration or when switching from a standard-force module to reduce stylus deflection risk on sensitive part surfaces.
This probe module is used in dimensional metrology environments, primarily on CNC coordinate measuring machines running TP20-compatible probe heads. Typical applications include inspection of precision-machined components in aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing facilities. The low force characteristic makes it well suited for soft materials, thin features, and applications where standard-force engagement could cause part movement or surface marking. It ships as a single unit and is intended for direct installation into an existing TP20 probe body without additional adapters when the M8 thread interface is compatible.
Designed as a low force replacement module for the RENISHAW TP20 touch-trigger probe system using the M8 thread interface.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CMM technician or metrologist. Power down the CMM and follow the machine manufacturer lockout procedure before removing or installing any probe module. Use only the appropriate module-seating tool or hand-tighten carefully per the probe body manufacturer guidelines - do not over-torque the M8 thread connection. After installation, perform a qualification run on a reference sphere to verify repeatability before using the probe for part inspection.
