The RENISHAW A-1371-0271 is a medium force probe module designed for use with the TP20 touch-trigger probe system. It provides a repeatable kinematic switching mechanism that registers contact between a stylus and a workpiece surface during coordinate measuring machine (CMM) operations. The module delivers a repeatability specification of 0.50 micrometers, making it suitable for precision dimensional inspection tasks. With an overall length of 38 millimeters and an M2 stylus thread, it accepts a wide range of standard TP20-compatible styli. Installation and exchange are tool-free, following the TP20 modular bayonet-style change system.
This probe module is used in metrology and quality control environments where CMM-based dimensional inspection is performed. It is suited to general-purpose measurement applications that require moderate stylus deflection force rather than the lighter touch of a low force module or the higher resistance of an extended force version. Typical installations include production floor CMMs and inspection lab machines running automated or manual measurement routines. Metrologists and CMM programmers are the primary users.
Designed as a direct-fit module for the Renishaw TP20 touch-trigger probe system. Compatible with TP20-style probe bodies that accept bayonet-mount interchangeable modules.
Module exchange on a TP20 probe body should be performed with the CMM in a safe, parked position and the machine motion halted per the machine controller's safe-change procedure. No tools are required for module exchange, but the bayonet interface should be inspected for debris or damage before seating the module. Follow the CMM manufacturer's qualification routine to re-qualify the stylus after any module or stylus change. All precision metrology work should be performed in accordance with applicable facility calibration and quality management procedures.
