Product Description

The QUIETFLEX ss0780 is a pre-formed insulation sleeve designed to wrap around existing or newly installed rigid ductwork. It limits heat gain and heat loss as conditioned air travels through the duct system, and it reduces condensation buildup on the outer surface of the pipe. The sleeve ships in a standard 5-foot length and carries an R8.0 thermal resistance rating. A reinforced metallic polyester vapor barrier on the outer layer provides a durable, reflective finish that also serves as a vapor retarder. HVAC technicians install this sleeve during new duct runs or when adding insulation to existing hard pipe in unconditioned spaces.

The ss0780 is sized for 7-inch diameter rigid duct pipe and is well suited for residential and light commercial HVAC applications. Typical installation locations include attics, crawlspaces, basements, and mechanical rooms where uninsulated hard pipe is exposed to unconditioned air. The 5-foot length is appropriate for short duct segments, offsets, and transitions. Each box includes one starter cap to cap the end of the sleeve at the termination point of the run.
