The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6001365 is a taper length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling across a wide range of materials. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers reliable performance in both production and maintenance applications. The bit measures 0.1299 inches in diameter with an overall length of 4.188 inches and a flute length of 2.688 inches. A standard 118-degree split point and right-hand spiral flute provide consistent chip evacuation and clean entry. The straight shank and web-thinned, tapered web construction reduce thrust requirements and improve hole quality. This bit is installed by machinists, maintenance mechanics, and metalworking tradespeople working with drill presses, lathes, or handheld power tools.
The 6001365 is suited for drilling alloy steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, malleable iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, brass, bronze, high strength bronze, copper, magnesium, magnesium alloy, nickel, nickel alloy, cermet, graphite, and reinforced plastic materials. The taper length body, longer than a jobber bit, provides additional reach for deeper hole applications without requiring an extended drill. It is a strong choice for general shop drilling where moderate depth and broad material compatibility are required.
Designed as a general-purpose taper length drill bit in the Series 5ATL line, compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks accepting a 0.1299-inch shank. Suitable for use in drill presses, CNC machines, lathes, and handheld power tools equipped with an appropriate keyless or keyed chuck.
Install in a properly sized straight-shank chuck and confirm the shank is fully seated before operation. Secure the workpiece before drilling to prevent movement and ensure a clean, accurate hole. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate based on material type and drill diameter. Wear appropriate eye protection and follow shop safety protocols whenever operating drilling equipment.
