The PRECISION TWIST DRILL 6000200 is a taper length high speed steel drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling across a wide range of materials. It carries a wire size designation of #53 and a decimal diameter of 0.0595 inches. The 118-degree standard point angle suits most common drilling applications. With a 3-inch overall length and a 1.75-inch spiral flute, this bit provides additional reach compared to jobber-length equivalents while maintaining rigidity. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. The bright, uncoated finish makes it a straightforward choice for shops that resharpen tooling regularly.
This bit is suited for use in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and trade environments where moderate hole depths in a variety of base materials are required. It is part of the Series R52 line, built to ANSI standards, and performs effectively in both production and one-off drilling operations. The straight shank accepts standard drill chucks without adapters. Right-hand cut only. Appropriate for use in drill presses, lathes, and handheld power tools where the workpiece and setup allow for controlled feed rates.
Rated for drilling into alloy steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, cermet, copper, graphite, hardened steel, high strength bronze, magnesium, magnesium alloy, malleable iron, nickel, nickel alloy, reinforced plastic materials, and stainless steel.
This drill bit is installed and used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and trade professionals operating drill presses, lathes, or handheld power tools. Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized drill chuck before use. Always use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for harder materials to extend tool life, even though this bit does not feature coolant-through capability. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and resharpen or replace the bit when wear is detected to maintain hole accuracy and prevent workpiece damage.
