The PIP 1816-6 is a split deerskin welding glove built for MIG and stick welding applications. The palm and back are cut from supple American whitetail deer split leather, offering a balance of heat protection and hand feel that heavier cowhide gloves often sacrifice. Full FR cotton and Aerofoam insulation runs through the palm and back, protecting against weld spatter and radiant heat. Fourchettes are gold pig grain leather with pre-curved fingers for an ergonomic fit. The glove is sewn with Kevlar thread throughout. It ships as a pair and is sized X-Large.
This glove is intended for professional welders working in fabrication shops, construction sites, and industrial environments where MIG and stick welding are the primary processes. The gauntlet-style cuff extends approximately 5 inches and is made from gold split cowhide, providing wrist and forearm coverage against spatter. The pre-curved Kontoura finger design reduces hand fatigue during extended welding shifts. A 3-inch carabiner is included for clipping gloves together during storage or transit between jobs.
Designed for MIG and stick welding tasks requiring dexterity and moderate heat protection. Sized X-Large.
Welding gloves should be inspected before each use for holes, worn seams, or degraded insulation. Damaged gloves must be replaced before beginning any welding operation. Always wear gloves in conjunction with appropriate PPE including a welding helmet, FR clothing, and safety glasses. Follow ANSI Z49.1 safety in welding and cutting standards for your work environment.
