The OSG VGM7-0099 is a 7-flute solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built on OSG's VGM7 series platform, it features a 3/4-inch diameter, a 3-inch length of cut, and a 6-inch overall length. The micrograin carbide construction paired with an EXO coating delivers extended tool life and heat resistance at elevated cutting speeds. With a 36-degree helix angle and variable index flute spacing, this end mill reduces chatter and vibration during aggressive material removal passes. It is a single-end, right-hand cutting tool with a straight-cylindrical shank, suited for professional CNC machinists and toolroom applications.
This end mill is designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling setups where a high flute count and rigid carbide substrate are required. The 7-flute geometry supports higher feed rates in finishing and semi-finishing passes on ferrous and hardened materials. The 3/4-inch straight shank seats directly into standard ER or end mill holders. Variable index spacing helps dampen harmonics in deep-cavity or long-reach setups. This tool is appropriate for job shops, aerospace, die and mold, and general precision machining environments where consistent surface finish and dimensional accuracy are required.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 3/4-inch shank end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills requiring a 7-flute solid carbide square end mill in the VGM7 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the holder and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut.
