The OSG VG441-1007 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 2.5 inch length of cut, and a 5 inch overall length, making it suited for moderate-depth slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. The tool is coated with TiAlN for thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. A 35-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smoother cutting action. Variable index geometry reduces chatter and vibration during aggressive cuts. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in production and job-shop settings.
The VG441-1007 is built for milling ferrous metals, hardened steels, stainless alloys, and similar difficult-to-machine materials where TiAlN coating performance is advantageous. Its micrograin carbide substrate provides the edge strength needed for high-speed and high-feed applications. The 1 inch shank diameter provides rigid tool holding in standard ER, Weldon, or hydraulic chucks. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool, meaning it can be used for plunge entry as well as conventional milling paths. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is the standard orientation for most CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Designed for use in standard 1 inch diameter tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Part of the OSG VG441 series of TiAlN-coated solid carbide square end mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the tool holder and torque the retention hardware to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cutting cycle, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
