The OSG HP460-3750 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built on OSG's HP460 series platform, it features a 60-degree helix angle and TiAlN coating, making it well suited for aggressive cuts in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temp alloys, and hardened materials. The micrograin carbide substrate supports rigidity and edge retention at elevated cutting speeds. At 0.375 inches in diameter with a 0.75-inch length of cut and 2.5-inch overall length, this is a compact, right-hand cut tool intended for CNC machining centers and manual mills used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This end mill is used in precision metal cutting applications across job shops, aerospace component manufacturing, die and mold work, and general machining of ferrous and high-temperature alloy workpieces. The single-end, three-flute configuration balances chip evacuation with cutting edge strength, giving it an advantage in slotting and pocketing operations in difficult-to-machine materials. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, expanding its utility in multi-axis and contouring setups.
Designed for use with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temp alloys, and hardened materials as stated by the manufacturer. Compatible with standard 3/8-inch collet holders, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems accepting a 0.375-inch shank diameter.
Installation and use of this end mill should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual milling operations. Ensure the machine spindle and tool holder are clean and within spec before seating the shank to the correct insertion depth. Follow your machine tool manufacturer's recommendations for runout tolerance and torque when securing set-screw or collet-style holders. Always verify feed rates, speeds, and depth-of-cut parameters against OSG HP460 series cutting data before beginning a new material or operation.
