The OSG HP455-7500 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. Built on OSG's HP455 series platform, it features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length. The tool is coated with TiAlN for heat resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. Five spiral flutes with a 45-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and reduce cutting forces. Micrograin carbide construction provides edge stability and wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. This end mill is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in job shop, production, and tool room settings.
The HP455-7500 is suited for slot milling, peripheral milling, and plunge operations where a centercutting tool is required. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry make it compatible with standard spindle configurations on vertical and horizontal machining centers. A 45-degree helix angle supports smooth engagement in both conventional and climb milling passes. This tool is appropriate for use in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where TiAlN coatings deliver thermal protection at high surface footage. The regular length profile keeps it practical for most standard fixturing setups without requiring extended reach clearance.
Designed as an OEM-style tooling solution for standard 3/4 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic or shrink-fit toolholders used on vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before seating or removing the tool from the holder. Use a properly sized collet or toolholder that matches the 3/4 inch shank diameter and torque the retention mechanism according to the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and confirm runout is within acceptable limits at the toolholder before beginning a cut.
