The OSG HP441-0625 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Part of the HP441 series, it features a 1/16 inch (0.0625 inch) mill diameter and a 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 35-degree helix angle. The TiAlN coating extends tool life by reducing heat buildup at the cutting edge. At 1-1/2 inches overall length with a 3/16 inch length of cut, this end mill is suited for fine detail work in tight geometries. The micrograin carbide substrate provides edge retention under demanding feed and speed conditions.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills for slotting, profiling, and contouring operations requiring small-diameter tooling. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry, making it practical for pocketing operations. The regular-length designation suits standard reach applications without the deflection risk associated with extended-reach tooling. Machinists and tooling specialists working in die and mold, aerospace, and precision component manufacturing will find this a reliable single-end tool for fine feature milling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill for CNC and manual milling machines accepting a 1/8 inch round shank collet or end mill holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with collet torque specifications and runout requirements for small-diameter carbide tooling. Secure the shank fully within the collet or end mill holder to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer. Carbide tooling is brittle and susceptible to fracture from side-loading or improper clamping; inspect the shank and cutting edges for chips or cracks before each use. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate when using small-diameter end mills to prevent breakage.
