Product Description

The OSG HP421-4062 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It carries a 13/32 inch (0.4062 inch) cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) shank diameter. The overall length is 2-3/4 inches. The TiAlN coating improves heat resistance and tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. The two-flute, spiral geometry with a 35-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. Micrograin carbide substrate adds edge strength and wear resistance in demanding applications.

This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and contouring operations on machining centers and manual knee mills. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, making it practical for ramping and pocket milling operations without pre-drilling. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC spindle setups. It fits applications in tool and die, aerospace component work, mold making, and general precision machining where tight tolerances and fine surface finish are required.
