The OSG HP411-2362 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in steel, cast iron, and hardened materials. It features a 0.2362 inch diameter with a matching 0.2362 inch shank diameter and a 0.3543 inch length of cut, placing it in the stub-length category for rigidity in tight setups. The four-flute, right-hand spiral configuration runs a 30-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation while maintaining a smooth cutting action. A TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in ferrous and hardened workpiece applications. This end mill is center-cutting and suitable for plunge, slot, and profile operations.
The HP411-2362 is engineered for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills where close-tolerance work in steel, cast iron, or hardened materials is required. The extended-reach design, with a neck length of approximately 30 mm and a neck diameter of 5.85 mm, allows access to features with moderate depth requirements without sacrificing stability. This tool is appropriate for job shops, tool rooms, and production environments running ferrous alloys and hardened steels. It is sold as a single-end tool and packaged individually.
Designed for use in standard ER or straight-shank toolholders accepting a 6 mm or 0.2362 inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, and hardened materials per material codes P, K, and H. Part of the OSG HP411 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Use a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder sized to the 0.2362 inch shank diameter to prevent runout. Follow the machine tool and toolholder manufacturer guidelines for minimum insertion depth and recommended clamping torque.
