The OSG HP400-2500 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.25 inch cutting diameter, 0.75 inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle, it delivers sharp, efficient chip evacuation across a range of machining applications. The TiAlN (Titanium Aluminum Nitride) coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life at elevated cutting speeds. Four spiral flutes and a centercutting geometry allow for both peripheral and plunge cutting. This end mill is sized for a 0.25 inch shank and has an overall length of 2.5 inches. It is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills used by tool-and-die, production, and maintenance machinists.
The HP400-2500 is built for right-hand cut, right-hand flute operation in regular-length applications. The 0.75 inch length of cut makes it well suited for slotting, profiling, and contouring in moderate-depth passes. The single-end configuration and TiAlN finish make it a go-to choice for shops running ferrous alloys, stainless steel, and hardened materials where heat buildup is a concern. Machinists working in general manufacturing, tool rooms, and job shops will find this geometry reliable for both roughing and semi-finish work.
Designed as a standard OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill for 0.25 inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine is powered down before changing tooling. Use a properly sized collet or toolholder that matches the 0.25 inch shank diameter and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation before beginning a cutting operation.
