It features an 8.60 mm diameter, a 140-degree R-thinned point, and a WD1 coating for extended tool life under demanding cutting conditions. The two-flute, right-hand spiral configuration promotes efficient chip evacuation, while the tapered web and R-thinning reduce entry force and improve self-centering accuracy. With an overall length of 103.00 mm and a straight-cylindrical shank at 10.00 mm diameter, this bit fits standard drill chucks and toolholders used in CNC machining and manual drilling operations. The HP255-3386 is suited for drilling blind holes, cross holes, and through holes in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron. Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly clamped in the toolholder before operation. Verify coolant-through supply pressure and flow rate match the machine tool specifications before running at elevated feeds and speeds. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide tooling can fail suddenly if run beyond service life.
