The OSG HP253-2913 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials. It features a 7.40 mm (0.2913 inch) cutting diameter, a 140-degree split point with R-thinned web geometry, and a proprietary EgiAs multi-layer coating designed to extend tool life in demanding production environments. The straight shank and compact stub-length body make it well suited for CNC machining centers and drill presses where rigidity and hole accuracy are priorities. This bit is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and production drilling professionals working in metal fabrication and manufacturing settings.
The HP253-2913 is designed for drilling steel and cast iron in high-cycle production applications. Its 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and screw machine length profile reduce deflection and improve chip evacuation in short, deep holes. The coolant-through design allows internal coolant delivery directly to the cutting edge, making it compatible with modern CNC setups that utilize through-spindle coolant systems. It is appropriate for both single-piece and production-volume work where tight hole tolerances and consistent tool life are required.
Designed as a high-performance OEM-style carbide drill for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and production drilling equipment that accept a straight shank with an 8.00 mm (0.3150 inch) shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials are steel and cast iron.
This drill bit is installed and operated by qualified machinists. Ensure the machine spindle and chuck or collet are clean and correctly sized for the 8.00 mm straight shank before seating the tool. Verify that through-spindle coolant pressure and flow rate are within the machine specification before engaging the coolant-through feature. Never exceed the tool manufacturer recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material.
