The OSG HP245-2913 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Built to Series HP245 specifications, it features a 7.40 mm (0.2913 inch) diameter, a 140-degree point angle with R-thinned web geometry, and a WD1 coating for extended tool life in ferrous materials. The two-flute right-hand spiral design produces efficient chip evacuation in a regular spiral configuration. With an overall length of 91.00 mm and a straight-cylindrical 8.00 mm shank, this bit is suited for use in CNC machining centers and conventional drill presses operated by machinists and tool-room professionals.
This drill is engineered for use on steel, alloy steel, and cast iron workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes P and K. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and R-thinned, tapered-web point make it well suited for blind hole drilling, cross hole drilling, general drilling, and self-centering operations. It is a strong fit for production environments where consistent hole quality and dimensional accuracy in the 7.00 mm to 8.00 mm diameter range are required.
Designed for use in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron workpieces (ISO material codes P and K). Fits standard drill chucks and collets accepting an 8.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Diameter tolerance of +0.006 to +0.021 mm is appropriate for general-purpose and close-tolerance hole production in the 7.00 mm to 8.00 mm size range.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual drilling equipment. Secure the shank fully in a chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits for the application. Power down the machine and follow lockout/tagout procedures before changing tooling. Solid carbide tooling is brittle - avoid side-loading, interrupted cuts beyond the tool's rated application, or dropping the drill on hard surfaces.
