The OSG HP245-0787 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials. Built to Series HP245 specifications, it features a 140-degree drill point angle with R-thinned web geometry that reduces thrust and promotes self-centering at entry. The WD1 coating improves wear resistance and heat dissipation during prolonged cutting cycles. At 2 mm in diameter with a 50 mm overall length and an 18 mm flute length, this bit is sized for precision small-diameter work. A tapered web and regular spiral flute combine to deliver efficient chip evacuation in blind hole and cross hole applications.
This drill bit is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held pneumatic or electric drilling equipment where tight tolerances are required on small bores. Primary workpiece materials include steel, alloy steel, and cast iron, corresponding to ISO material groups P and K. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 3 mm shank diameter seats securely in standard collet chucks and drill chucks. Typical applications include blind hole drilling, cross hole drilling, and self-centering entry cuts in precision metalworking and production machining environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production drill bit for use in CNC machining, drill press, and hand-held drilling setups requiring a 2 mm solid carbide jobber-length bit in ISO material groups P and K.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the shank fully in a collet or drill chuck to the recommended grip depth before operation. Verify spindle speed and feed rate settings are appropriate for the workpiece material and bit diameter before engaging the cut. Do not exceed the design flute length when drilling blind holes, as chip packing can cause bit deflection or breakage.
