The OSG 8692960 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 9.60 mm (0.3780 inch) diameter, a 140-degree R-thinned point for self-centering entry, and an EgiAs coating that extends tool life in abrasive and hard materials. The overall length is 136.00 mm with a 77.00 mm flute length, giving it a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio suited for moderate-depth holes. Right-hand spiral flutes with a regular spiral type promote efficient chip evacuation. This drill is sized for precision work, with a diameter tolerance of plus 0 to minus 0.022 mm.
The OSG 8692960 is built for machining steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys. It supports blind hole drilling, cross-hole drilling, and self-centering applications, making it a reliable choice for production machining and toolroom environments. The 10.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed operations where heat management is critical. This drill is part of OSG Series 6510, a high-performance line intended for use in CNC machining centers and conventional drill presses working with ferrous and exotic alloy workpieces.
Compatible with workpiece materials designated under ISO material codes P (steel), K (cast iron), S (titanium and superalloys), and H (hardened materials). Fits standard 10.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank drill chucks and collet systems. Part of OSG Series 6510.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized chuck or collet before operation, and verify runout before beginning production cuts. When using coolant-through capability, confirm the machine spindle and toolholder support through-coolant flow at the required pressure. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols when handling carbide cutting tools.
