The OSG 484-7501 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It measures 3/4 inch in diameter with a 2-inch length of cut, a 3/4-inch shank diameter, and a 6-inch overall length. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this tool delivers consistent edge integrity and wear resistance across a range of materials. The 4-flute, spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and a smooth surface finish. Center-cutting capability allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. This tool is intended for installation and use by machinists and CNC operators in production or job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for peripheral and slot milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration follow standard CNC and manual milling machine conventions. Its uncoated finish makes it a practical general-purpose option or a candidate for post-purchase coating. The extended 6-inch overall length provides reach for deeper setups or fixture-clearance situations while the 2-inch length of cut handles standard depth requirements. It is sold individually and is part of the OSG Series 484 product family.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 3/4-inch straight shank tool holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank in a collet or end mill holder to the manufacturer-specified clamping depth, using appropriate tooling torque procedures per the machine tool manual. Verify runout with a dial indicator before committing to a production cut.
