The OSG 4200000411 is a solid carbide helical flute thread mill designed to cut 1/2-14 NPT internal threads in a single helical interpolation pass. With 4 right-hand flutes and an EXO coating, it delivers consistent thread form and extended tool life in production and job-shop environments. The 0.575-inch cutting diameter and 0.787-inch length of cut suit through and blind-hole NPT thread applications. Overall length is 4.0 inches with a 0.625-inch shank diameter. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in metalworking, pipe fitting, and fluid-system component manufacturing.
This thread mill is suited for machining 1/2-14 NPT threads on CNC machining centers using helical interpolation. NPT threads are tapered pipe threads used in pressure-rated fluid and gas plumbing connections. The tool is appropriate for ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a solid carbide substrate and EXO coating provide the required hardness and lubricity. It is used in aerospace, industrial, and plumbing-component manufacturing where accurate NPT thread form is required.

This tool is installed and operated by qualified CNC machinists. Secure the shank in a balanced, correctly sized toolholder and verify runout before cutting. Program helical interpolation to the correct taper and pitch per NPT thread standards. Do not exceed the recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material — refer to OSG Series 42000 speeds and feeds documentation for proper setup.
