The OSG 10413005 is a screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in steel and alloy steel applications. Built from cobalt high speed steel with a coated finish, it delivers extended tool life and heat resistance under demanding cutting conditions. The bit features a 130-degree point angle, a standard point type, and an R-thinned web for reduced thrust at entry. With a straight-cylindrical shank and 2 spiral flutes in a regular spiral configuration, this bit is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine setups where a shorter flute-to-diameter ratio improves rigidity and chip evacuation. It carries a 3xD flute-by-diameter ratio and is sold individually.
This drill bit is designed for production drilling in ferrous materials including carbon steel and alloy steel. The screw machine length body offers greater rigidity than jobber-length bits, making it a preferred choice in high-cycle operations and close-tolerance setups. The cobalt high speed steel construction handles work-hardening materials that standard HSS bits struggle with. Machinists, tool and die workers, and maintenance technicians working in metal fabrication and general machining environments will find this bit a dependable daily-use tool. Coolant-through is not supported on this model.
Designed as a replacement or production-use drill bit for straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders compatible with a 0.413-inch diameter tool in screw machine, CNC, and drill press applications targeting steel and alloy steel workpieces.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine fully powered down and locked out per standard lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet holder before operation and verify runout before beginning a production run. Always match feed rate and spindle speed to the workpiece material and bit diameter per the manufacturer or machining data reference. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection when operating drilling equipment.
