The OSG 1014700 is a straight flute bottoming tap designed to cut internal threads in drilled holes where thread depth must extend close to the bottom of a blind bore. Manufactured from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tap produces right-hand 8-36 UNF threads and is sized for use in applications requiring a 2B or 3B class of fit. It carries a thread limit of H2, four flutes, and an overall length of 2.125 inches with a thread length of 0.75 inches. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance technicians install this tap using a tap wrench or machine holder in tapping operations across a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
